How it works
The check has two halves that correct each other. One looks outward, the other inward.
What already exists
We find the products closest to yours and use them. Not the website, the product: sign up, click through, pay where possible. We note what they do well, where they stop, and what they charge. The most common finding: your idea exists, but not for your case.
Where you fit
Out of the comparison comes a gap — or the honest answer that there is not one. We will tell you either way. A no in week one is cheaper than a realisation in month eight.
Which technology holds
In parallel we work out what your requirements demand technically. Work offline? Real time for many people at once? A connection to a system from 2009? Each answer rules some routes out and opens others.
We give you two or three routes, each with what it costs, what it allows later and where it commits you. You decide — but you decide with the consequences in view.
- The competitors you know about. We will find the ones you do not.
- Your idea of the price, even if it is still rough.
- Existing systems that have to be connected, with documentation if any exists.
A short assessment: comparable products with their prices, the gap you are aiming at, and two or three viable technical routes with their consequences.
If you skip this
Two things go wrong regularly. You build something you could have bought. Or you pick a technology that fits the first version and not the third — and switching later costs more than the first version did.
